On Finding the Right Designer and Feeling Truly Understood

Sometimes, all it takes is seeing one piece.

For Zuhlihat, it was a bridal look in black and red that first introduced her to Sheye Oladejo. She came across the design online and instantly connected with it. The detailing, the craftsmanship, the way the outfit carried both elegance and personality, it stayed with her long after she saw it.

“I remember thinking, wow, this is a beautiful piece. The intricacies and everything just stood out.”

So when it became time to choose a designer for her second traditional outfit, reaching out to the brand felt like the right decision.

From the very beginning, what stood out to her was the experience itself. The process felt collaborative, thoughtful, and very intentional. There was consistent communication, openness, and a genuine effort to make sure she felt involved every step of the way.

As someone who naturally pays attention to detail, that level of communication mattered a lot to her. Whether it was fittings, updates, or conversations around the design direction, she appreciated feeling informed and reassured throughout the process.

“I felt that the team listened to me during my fittings. I was amazed by how beautiful it looked and how beautiful it made me feel.” This was her comment when she received the n  final piece, everything came together in a way that felt both beautiful and personal.

For Zuhlihat, the experience went beyond simply creating an outfit. It was about working with a team that understood her vision, respected the details that mattered to her, and helped bring the entire look to life in a way that felt effortless and meaningful.
