A Defining Moment for Sheye Oladejo

Some moments feel too big to process at first.

When the feature request from British Vogue arrived, I honestly did not respond immediately. The email sat in my inbox for two days because it simply did not feel real.

How could a dream born in a tiny hostel room in Moremi Hall, Ile-Ife, possibly reach the pages of the fashion bible?

But somehow, it did.

In September 2024, Sheye Oladejo was officially featured in “The Big Fashion Issue” of British Vogue, a milestone that felt far bigger than a magazine feature. For me, it felt like watching years of prayer, hard work, uncertainty, resilience, and belief come full circle.

What started in a university hostel room has now grown into a globally accomplished luxury fashion house.

Looking back at the journey, I can honestly say it has been nothing short of incredible.

There were seasons filled with self-doubt. Seasons where the vision felt bigger than my reality. Long nights. Quiet sacrifices. Moments where the path ahead felt unclear. But through it all, I kept creating, kept building, and kept believing.

That is why this moment means so much to me.

Not just because of the recognition, but because of what it represents. Proof that dreams are valid, no matter where they begin.

“To every aspiring designer out there, never underestimate the power of belief,” I always say. “There will be days when self-doubt creeps in, when the path seems unclear, but keep going.”

This milestone is also deeply personal because it was never achieved alone. Behind the feature is an incredible team, loyal clients, collaborators, supporters, and people who believed in the vision long before the world started paying attention.

From Moremi Hall to the pages of British Vogue, this journey has reminded me that consistency, faith, and vision can take you further than you ever imagined.

And somehow, this still feels like only the beginning.
